Modules

Modules indicate your specialisation as a member of the Contingency. Each Module represents an asset, tangible or intangible, that you have, designed to help with Crisis Mitigation. This may be a collection of fast vehicles for transporting goods, a large factory complex capable of making what is needed, specialised drone scanners that allow you to assess a situation better, or a software key that grants you access to additional information. When choosing a Module, give a brief description (from a few words to a short sentence) of what it corresponds to. Examples are listed below each Module, giving ideas of what might lead to that ability.

At character creation, select three Modules. These cannot all come from the same category. For example, you could take two Oversight Modules and one Construction Module, or one Relations, one Transport, and one Oversight Module. However, you cannot take three Oversight Modules.

Unless specified otherwise, you may take each Module an unlimited number of times. At the start of the game, this means you can only take the same Module twice. However, as the game progresses and your facilities get upgraded, you will get the option to gain additional Modules and may take additional repeats. See here for more.

Communications Network
You have a crisis-stable communications network to coordinate with world leaders.
You may make allocations even if you can’t see one of the nodes. The other node must be within range of the node you can see. This range increases by 1 for each time you take this module.
Examples: tight beam satellite transmission, a direct telephone line.

Authoritative Voice
You have the ability to broadcast information on high priority channels.
Once per session, you may send a message with an @everyone in #ic-announcements. For each extra time you take this you may send an extra such message.
Examples: radio mast network, signal amplifiers.

Rallying Cry
You are able to raise support with residents, coordinating them to assist in the current crisis.
You can use your allocations to Allocate the people from any Producer or Factory that would be inhabited (e.g. factories, farms, laboratories). This Module can only be taken once.
Examples: broadcasting station, printing press.

Interchange Coordinator
You have the ability to coordinate logistical interfaces between several organisations and Minds.
Allocations between two Default Nodes 1) do not count against your Allocation limit. This Module can only be taken once.\\
Examples: switchboards, ATC tower.

Evacuation Protocol
You have the resources to move a lot of people out of danger, and you can do it quickly.
You may use an Allocation to evacuate people from a Crisis Point to a Default Node, resolving that crisis without resources.
Examples: fleet of buses, emergency broadcast system.

Expanded Horizons
Your facilities make your network of accessible facilities larger than most.
The range of Nodes you can see is increased by one.
Examples: Long-range scanners, satellite uplink.

Detailed Insight
You have detailed logs of the logistical operations of the Contingency.
You have access to a command which shows you all of the Allocations a PC is making. This Module can only be taken once.\\
Examples: CCTV networks, data log access.

Crisis Coordinator
You have direct access to the crisis mitigation data within your region.
You have a command to display the list of crises, and which have been Allocated to, within your region – regardless of whether or not they are within your vision. This Module can only be taken once.
Examples: superuser access, central server computer.

Mobile Chassis
Your entire physical form is mobile. You are designed to engage with local logistics while on the move.
You are able to move around. By default, you can move along one edge every 12 minutes. Each additional time you take this Module, that time is halved.
Examples: aircraft carrier, space station.

Precognitive Analytics
Your advanced forecasting algorithms allow you insight into upcoming crises.
When you inspect an inactive crisis Node, you get an indication of the kind of crisis which will appear there. This Module can only be taken once.\\
Examples: quantum simulations, early warning detectors.

Efficient Distributor
You have an unparalleled fleet of transport vehicles at your disposal.
You can make one additional Allocation. This Module can only be taken once.
Examples: heavy goods vehicles, train yard.

Alternative Pathfinding
You have specialised vehicles to get in and out of almost anywhere, bypassing any terrain and obstacles.
Once per session, you may choose a Node you can see and any other Node and add an edge between them. For each time you take this, you may use this feature an additional time.
Examples: high-speed planes, orbital shuttles.

Executive Authority
You have the facilities to veto operations in your region.
You can choose a Node. You are able to prevent Allocations going into or out of that Node. You can change which Node you have selected at any point. Taking this multiple times allows you to select multiple Nodes at once.
Examples: superuser shell access, heavy blockade vehicles.

Improvised Vehicles
You are able to produce vehicles from available supplies for use in emergency transport.
You can designate any number of Producers to transportation. Designated Producers may no longer be Allocated, but for each Producer you designate this way you gain an Allocation. This Module can only be taken once.
Examples: wooden bi-planes, furnace powered generator.

Shared Roads
You can coordinate your transportation well with other Minds.
You are able to give your Allocations to other people, letting them make the Allocation instead of you. You may revoke this at any time. The Allocation then uses their vision. This Module can only be taken once.
Examples: traffic software access, remote-operated vehicles.

Abundant Producer
You can produce high-quality resources from producers, allowing them to supply more areas more efficiently.
When you Allocate from a Producer, it does not count against the Allocation limit for that Producer. This Module can only be taken once.
Examples: expansive refineries, additional harvesting drones.

Overcharged Transformer
Your manufacturing processes are highly refined, letting you stretch resources further.
When you Allocate from a Transformer, it does not count against the Allocation limit for that Transformer. This Module can only be taken once.
Examples: high-precision manufacturing equipment, rationing mandate.

Established Facilities
You facilities include a large industrial facility, capable of producing or manufacturing resources.
Your starting node is a Producer or Transformer of your choice. This Module can only be taken once.
Examples: hydroponics bay, oil rig.

Controlled Demolition
KABOOM!
Once per session, may disassemble a Transformer into its constituent components, turning it into a Producer. You may use this Module an additional time for each time you take this Module.
Examples: demolition equipment, recycling plant.

Deep-level Surveying
Your high-precision harvesting techniques allow you to draw metaphorical blood from literal stones.
You can use Producers for resources that would normally be in too-low concentration for others to harvest (e.g. rare metals from seawater). This Module can only be taken once.
Examples: chemical scanning equipment, large numbers of harvesting drones.

Tailor-made
You have a custom Module, designed for a particularly specialised use. Describe what it does! This is subject to GM balancing.
